MKULTRA and the start of the Psychedelic Movement MKULTRA, sometimes spelled MK-ULTRA, is one of the worst cases of abuse by the Intelligence Community on civilians. In 1953 MKULTRA was formed as a clandestine, illegal as hell, brainwashing program that was started in reaction to the successful Soviet, Chinese and North Korean brainwashing programs. To this end the program was organized by Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, a club-footed, stuttering "psychiatrist." They experimented with a newly discovered chemical D-Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, or LSD as it's commonly called. The "volunteers" for this mind control were found in mental institutions. Dr.Gottlieb was clearly a sadist. There is a case were Gottlieb dosed someone for 77 days straight. He and his colleagues took the drug recreationally, and had lots of fun dosing unsuspecting co-workers at parties. These clever hi-jinks ended up with one fellow jumping to his death out of a 10 story building. Since they were ostensibly looking for a mind control drug, they experimented with many drugs besides LSD, including a dangerous intravenous drip of barbiturates and amphetamines. When the exhausted subject would fall asleep they would introduce the amphetamines, and continue interrogation techniques. This Dr. Strangelove-esque character had no sense of medical ethics at all. During counseling he would record the sessions with patients, then would dose them with acid and put them in a room. The bed pillow had small speakers in it, and the most self-effacing thing the patient said would be looped over and over. MKULTRA did not just use mental institutions for their subjects. "Johns" attending brothels would be dosed with psychedelics and monitored by a two-way mirror. This program was called Operation Midnight Climax. Get it? The intention of the government was to weaponize LSD and use it on unfriendly governments. At one point pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly was asked to produce enough acid to turn on all of China. Literally billions of hits. There were plans of dosing Fidel Castro as well. Unfortunately for researchers records of MKULTRA were ordered destroyed by director Richard Helms in 1973. Luckily some have survived. In fact, the government has had to pay out millions to survivors of this program. Some say that the entire Psychedelic Movement was actually a black ops CIA mindcontrol operation conducted on a mass scale. This program was created to create a docile populace that was easily manipulated. Acid Guru Timothy Leary stated before his death that he was working for the CIA; whether or not this is true, or simply Dr.Leary's way of being self-aggrandizing, we may never know. The reason MKULTRA bothers me so much, is that I feel we are totally manipulated by "interests" to medicate ourselves and our children. Governmental agencies don't have to make people take drugs unwillingly, the American public will do it enthusiastically, and pay for the privilege of altering their neurochemistry, perhaps permanently. This so-called Prozac Nation of ours, is either from the designs of the elite to control us, or sheer greed. Neither of which I want to be a part of. Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World, and arguably the founder of the Psychedelic Movement, said prophetically: "There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution." Sources: |

Aspartame: The truth they won't tell you. Unlike some conspiracy theories, this might actually be plausible, since the FDA has track record of rubber stamping unsafe products for big business, most notably, the pharmaceutical companies. Is aspartame merely a harmless non-fattening sweetener, or something more insidious? I wish I knew the answer, until then check out this anti-aspartame site. There is a lot of rhetoric about Nutrasweet® on the Web. I've seen writings blaming all manner of ailments on it, including Gulf War Syndrome. If you are worried, check out this pro-aspartame site, approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. Maybe that will make you feel better about sucking down that diet soda. |

| Scientifically known as 1-aspartyl 1-phenylalanine methyl ester, consumers recognize aspartame in the forms of Equal, NutraSweet and Spoonful. Aspartame has three components: phenylalanine (50 percent), aspartic acid (40 percent) and methanol, also termed wood alcohol (10 percent). Those in support of this popular artificial sweetener, state that the two primary amino acids, which comprise 90 percent of aspartame by weight, are a harmless and natural part of our diet. They insist that aspartic acid is a naturally occurring neurotransmitter, which is present in the human central nervous system. This is only a partial truth.
Phenylalanine and aspartic acid are amino acids that are normally supplied by the foods we eat; however, they can only be considered natural and harmless when consumed in combination with other amino acids. On their own, they enter the central nervous system in abnormally high concentrations, causing aberrant neuronal firing and potential cell death. The neurotoxic effects of these amino acids, when consumed as isolates, can be linked to headaches, mental confusion, balance problems and possibly seizures. ... In a cruel and ironic twist, aspartame may actually cause weight gain. Phenylalanine and aspartic acid, found in aspartame, stimulate the release of insulin. Rapid, strong spikes in insulin remove all glucose from the blood-stream and store it as fat. This can result in hypoglycemia and sugar cravings. Additionally, it has been demonstrated to inhibit carbohydrate induced synthesis of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which signals that the body is satiated. Inhibition of serotonin leads to food cravings, increased carbohydrate consumption and, ultimately, weight gain. In a recent study, a control group switching to an aspartame-free diet resulted in an average weight loss of 19 pounds. Christine Lydon, MD ,Could There Be Evils Lurking In Aspartame Consumption? Peak Oil and Dead Dinosaur Juice I've been looking into Peak Oil for about two years now. This is a subject that I hope that everyone is wrong about. When I first heard the term, it was definitely on the fringe of acceptable subjects of conversation. Now it gets some mainstream media coverage. Here is the wikipedia.org definition: "The Hubbert peak theory, also known as peak oil, is an influential theory concerning the long-term rate of conventional oil and other fossil fuels production and depletion. It predicts that future world oil production will soon reach a peak and then rapidly decline. The actual peak year will only be known after it has passed. Based on available production data, proponents have predicted the peak years to be 1989, 1995, 1995-2000, or, according to one influential group, 2007 for oil and somewhat later for natural gas. This may lead to either minor economic or major catastrophic consequences for the world since our civilization is dependent on cheap and abundant fossil fuels. The Hubbert peak theory, while controversial, is increasingly influencing policy makers both within the oil industry and government." ..."Some believe that the decreasing oil production portends a drastic impact on human culture and modern technological society, which is currently heavily dependent on oil as a fuel, chemical feedstock and fertilizer. Over 90% of transportation in the United States relies on oil. Some envisage a Malthusian catastrophe occurring as oil becomes increasingly inefficient to produce. No other known energy source is as cheap to extract, as easy to transport, and as full of energy as oil. Since the 1940s, agriculture has dramatically increased its productivity, due largely to the use of chemical pesticides, fertilizers, and increased mechinisation. This process has been called the Green Revolution. The increase in food production has allowed world population to grow dramatically over the last 50 years. Pesticides rely upon oil as a critical ingredient, and fertilizers require both oil and natural gas. Farm machinery also requires oil. Some have speculated that a decreasing supply of oil, will cause modern industrial agriculture to collapse, leading to a drastic fall in food production, leading to food shortages or even mass starvation." ibid. Our leaders have actually publicly commented on this: By some estimates, there will be an average of two-percent annual growth in global oil demand over the years ahead, along with, conservatively, a three-percent natural decline in production from existing reserves. That means by 2010 we will need on the order of an additional 50 million barrels a day. -Dick Cheney. An additional 50 million barrels a day? Holy Shit! Where's that going to come from? The more you one looks into the Peak Oil problem, the more it looks bleak. Perhaps we are doomed to a Mad Max/Road Warrior type existence. However, there are some who reject the idea of the Biological Origin of Petroleum. (BOOP). Say it! It's fun, BOOP! The scientists, who are mostly Russian, believe that oil comes from a geothermal process, and it renews itself. We're not running out of oil, we're running into oil. This kind of makes sense, Russia was never considered to be an oil power until relatively recently. I'm totally hoping that oil turns out to be from an abiotic source. It's a little comforting to think that oil shortages are actually a scam and a conspiracy, rather than consider a mass human extinction. |
